"Doing the Right Thing"
The Winter Edition of StudentsXpress Is Here
It’s live! The Winter 2026 edition of StudentsXpress Magazine is now available, and this issue’s theme hits close to home:
“Doing the Right Thing - Even If No One Is Watching.”
If you’ve been looking for a way to spark meaningful conversations with your students about integrity, character, and making good choices, this issue was made for you.
What Is StudentsXpress?
For those new here: StudentsXpress is a student publication where PreK through 12th graders share their writing and artwork with peers across the country.
Since 2011, we’ve been giving students a platform to express themselves creatively, tied to social emotional learning themes that matter.
When students see their NAME in print, something shifts. They see themselves as creators. They understand their perspective has value.
And participation is 100% free. StudentsXpress is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. No cost to your school. No budget approval needed.
This Issue’s Theme: Doing the Right Thing
We chose this theme intentionally for February.
It’s the time of year when everyone’s running on empty. When shortcuts look tempting. When students (and adults) need reminders about why integrity matters - especially when no one’s looking.
The student work in this issue explores:
What it means to be honest
Standing up for what’s right
Making good choices even when it’s hard
Being the kind of person you’d be proud of
These are conversations your students are ready to have. This magazine gives them a creative outlet to process those ideas.

How to Use StudentsXpress in Your School
For Counselors: Use the magazine as a discussion starter in small groups or classroom guidance lessons. The student-created content makes it relatable in ways adult-written curriculum can’t match.
For Teachers: Assign creative writing or art projects tied to the theme. The best submissions can be featured in future issues - giving students real motivation to engage.
For Principals: Share with your staff as an enrichment resource. It costs nothing and reinforces the social-emotional skills you’re already prioritizing.
For Students: This is their magazine. Their words. Their art. Their voice.
What Educators Are Saying

“Students get a chance to work towards something that is personal to them and have their achievements published, which is incredibly rewarding.” - Heather Banu, Parent & Teacher, Hamilton Elementary

A Note on Timing
We released this issue the week before Valentine’s Day intentionally. February is hard. The slump is real. We hoped this magazine might lift spirits for students and teachers alike.
If your building is feeling the mid-year exhaustion, you’re not alone. And sometimes the best antidote is reminding students that their voices matter.
Let’s give them a reason to believe it.
